    Do you have flat-back stones (cabochons) that don’t have a hole? Want to do something
    creative with them without the risk of drilling a hole?  Learn to capture the cabochon with seed
    beads, using the peyote stitch, to create a beautiful bezel that will set off your beautiful stone.  The
    area surrounding it can be enhanced with additional beads and techniques, thereby making it a
    one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

    Make a bracelet, encrusted with Swarovski crystals, that looks like a diamond tennis
    bracelet. You will use 2 different sizes of bicone crystals, plus delicas, to create a
    sensational wrist adornment that everyone will want to copy.  It is truly a luscious design.

    Offered by Paul Johnson
    We are very excited to invite you  to view, learn about, and purchase ancient beads
    collected from all over the world!  Paul Johnson has been collecting beads since the
    1980's and has become an expert in the field of beads and their history.  He has beads
    dating back over 7,000 years, and he is willing to share his knowledge and collection
    with us for a limited engagement.  Some of these unusual and unique beads will also
    be for sale.  This show is free, but will be at Mountain Beadworks for 2 days only.  This

    If you have ever wanted to make your own jewelry components out of silver, then thisclass is
    for you.  Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is a clay-like substance that combinesvery tiny particles
    of pure silver, with water and an organic binder. It can be molded,stamped, carved, etched,
    and a variety of materials can be added to it (glass, stones,etc.)  After it is fired in our kiln,
    the result is a piece of .999 fine silver. In this class you will complete several pieces of fine
    silver jewelry using PMC.
    Fee:  $95/person includes 18 grams of silver clay and the use of all tools and the kiln.  
    Lunch is also included.  Discount on all materials and supplies purchased on the day of

    techniques with sterling silver wire.  For even more design options, you can incorporate
    "slider beads" into your creation.  This is a great class to begin discovering the fun and
    creative options of working with silver wire.

    This dreamy bracelet is constructed with beads, silver wire, and pieces found at your
    local hardware store!  This project incorporates some simple-to-learn wire-working
    techniques, combined with your creative juices, to construct a bracelet that will make
    you feel like you are wearing a piece of your garden on your wrist. No thorns or stickers
    in this project; just pure fun.

    In this class we will work primarily with “single wire” designs and techniques
    such as single- and multiple-bead rings, earrings, bracelets and chains
    (link by link).  You will learn how to twirl, shape and form wire to give it more
    character and life as you form beautiful wire jewelry pieces.

    Class: Free-form Peyote Bracelet
    Instructor: Patty Strong
    Imagine making a bracelet where you can't make a mistake!  You will learn how to make
    the foundation of this bracelet using peyote stitch, and a variety of sizes and shapes of beads.
    Then you will learn how to build on top of this in any way that your creative juices take you.
    The bracelet can take on any shape depending on the beads you choose to use. The bracelet
    becomes a canvas of your design style. And there will never be another one even remotely
    similar to yours. Previous experience with peyote stitch is not necessary..

    Class: Crochet with Wire and Beads
    Instructor: Patty Strong
    This class continues to be a big hit. Learn how to incorporate beads into this project while
    crocheting with thin gauge wire. It is a fast moving project that can easily be completed
    during the class. Beginners can grasp this concept quickly, and more experienced beaders
    will love the versatility of this technique. The technique learned in this class can be modified
    slightly for 2 more completely different jewelry styles. This is a project you will want to repeat
    over and over.

    Class: Domino Wire Art
    Instructor:  Linda K. Moore
    Let the wire inspire you!  Create a one of a kind necklace that will amaze your friends when they
    find out it is actually a domino.  You will learn a unique watercolor effect to enhance your
    stamped domino.  You may choose from over 20 rubber stamp images.  We will take a lunch
    break at which time you can pick out the 7 beads needed to complete your beautiful necklace.
    Then you will learn to wire wrap and add wire art to complete your unique one-of-a-kind necklace..

    Special Event: Second Annual Festival of Artisans
    Please join us for the second year of this very successful event.   The Festival of Artisans is a gathering for all  who apreciate creative
    expression.  It was conceived of as a way to showcase the diverse skills and talents of the creative people that we all are.  Booths will
    be set up by creative artists as a way to sell, demonstrate, exhibit or promote skills and crafts that demonstrate their creativity.  There
    is no charge for persons to attend this festival, and there wil be plenty of free parking available for autos and RV's.  Located in
    Wynola, an active business community of Julian, we are pleased to be a part of such a vibrant area that is ripe for the expression of
    creativity.
